Skip Loading Process

What will go in your skip?

When loading you skip you need to consider the following:

• What rubbish must you get rid of?
• What kind of waste is it?
• How large are the objects on their own?

You can be cleaning out your loft, garage, or yard, or you might be starting a project to keep yourself busy when there isn’t much else to do. Booking the appropriate skip will be simpler once you are aware of what has to be discarded.

Select your placement

Consider where your skip should be placed for the most convenience. It must be at a location that is simple to access and has enough space surrounding it for heaving items in. Additionally, be sure that it is not obstructing anything else, especially your cars! Make sure to give room for your vehicles to enter and exit if you plan to have them placed in your driveway. Always double check if you need a permit from your local council before hiring your skip, eg with Glasgow Council. When organising a skip permit you must get a permit from your local direct council, however we are able to assist you with this, if needed.

Load flat waste first

Always put objects that are heavier or flatter in the bottom of the skip. The bottom is the greatest spot for flat goods like doors, radiators, fence panels, and old flooring, as well as heavy materials like bricks, concrete, and breeze blocks. Lean any glass you intend to add against the side to help protect it from breaking.

Before putting any cardboard boxes in the garbage, flatten them out. Don’t stack your flat goods on top of one another; instead, place them at the bottom of the skip. Start by creating a layer, then after it is finished, start stacking. Going layer by layer is essential for successfully loading your skip. Your bulky objects must first be divided up into manageable pieces. For instance, if you are getting rid of a table, you should try to take the legs off so that you may load the surface and legs independently. This is the most effective approach to use every square inch of space. After disassembling your hefty objects, you should dump them into your skip, filling as much room as you can.
